Day One: Giza Pyramids & the Grand Egyptian Museum

We start where it all began; the Giza Plateau, home to the Great Pyramid of Khufu and one of the last surviving Wonders of the Ancient World. I’ll walk you through the Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, then on to the Valley Temple of Khafre and the Great Sphinx, with plenty of time for photos along the way; camel ride, if you’d like one.
From there, we head to the Grand Egyptian Museum, the largest archaeological museum in the world, or the Cairo Museum if you prefer the classic downtown experience. Round off the day with an optional lunch and a stop for shopping.

Day Two; Cairo City Tour:
The Citadel, Coptic Cairo, Islamic Cairo and the Bazaar
we’ll start by exploring the Cairo Citadel, built in the 12th century AD by the renowned Saladin. Here, we’ll discover the magnificent Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali Pasha, which also houses his mausoleum. Next, we’ll visit Coptic Cairo (the religious complex) that comprises the Hanging Church, the Church of the Great Martyr Saint George, the Abu Serga Church with its holy cavern of Mary, and the Ben Ezra Jewish Synagogue. Finally, we’ll wander through Al-Moez Street, the former administrative heart of Egypt, and explore the vibrant Khan Al-Khalili market.
